From our Founder
Billie Tucker Volpe
In 2009, the Tea Party Movement took the country by storm. We petitioned our Federal Government against tax increases; regulation strangulation; mandatory purchases of health insurance; and so many other freedom-losing rules impacting us as American citizens. We marched on DC and we helped Conservatives get elected to Congress. And then in 2016, we sent a businessman to DC as the 45th President of the United States and wished him well in draining the swamp.
We thought we could get back to business locally and then we discovered… while we were keeping our Eye on DC, our local government entities were having a heyday with our tax dollars and our own swamp needed draining.
Eye On My City was formed to hold our local elected officials accountable to making her a safe and industrious city to live and work in and one that looks out for the welfare of all her citizens.
This site is designed to put an Eye on our local elected leaders and hold them accountable to integrity and transparency in everything they do for us and expose any corruption and cronyism that will might impact this special town in North Florida.
We do our best to research our facts and we have our own opinions here as well. Opinions are good and opens up debate where the truth of the matter can be defined.
We welcome you to join in with your comments, send suggested news items, and even write your own articles for our site. All submitted articles will be reviewed by our Editorial Board before placement.

You never know who just might want to post an Opinion here. We have reached out to both political parties and other leaders in the community to ask their Opinions and encourage them to write those opinions here. We hope you’ll keep an Eye open for surprise guest writers! We want this site to be one where you can hear from the citizens of Nassau County because the local media doesn’t tend to do that too often! We hope our governmental servants will also be watching us to see what we think — Wink or Stink!!
