School Board candidate is under vicious attack by Democratic Party

April Carney, conservative candidate for the School Board, is punching back against a vicious smear by local Democrats.

Carney is challenging a Democrat incumbent on the board, Elizabeth Andersen.

The party tweeted that “radical” Carney took part in the protest at the Capitol Jan. 6, 2021, at which a police officer shot and killed an unarmed woman. It was accompanied by a video of questionable veracity.

Carney has responded to the Democrat tweet with this statement:

“Per usual, Duval Democrats resort to lying and smearing when an election isn’t going their way against a candidate who puts parents and kids ahead of the teachers’ unions. This picture is FAKE. Trying to say it’s real is ILLEGAL. Shame on the Duval Democrats.

We should be talking about students being unable to read, teachers leaving in droves, or the rat infestations at our schools, yet here we are answering to more hyper-partisan rhetoric attempting to smear a working mom who wants to serve and improve our community by running for school board.

We call on Elizabeth Andersen to show she really believes it should be “Kids first. Stop partisan politics” and denounce these disgusting attacks by her Democrat Attack Dogs.

Duval Democrats claim the fabricated images came from a ‘concerned voter’ but refuse to produce the person or the original posts and instead claim the posts were deleted by Mrs. Carney. This is an outrageous bundle of lies. Here are a few truths.

1. Many of the original posts don’t even exist and Mrs. Carney cannot delete those. The comments were never made by Mrs. Carney and therefore were not deleted.

2. The Duval Dems don’t have primary source evidence because they are completely fabricated. The date format and profile photos do not match Facebook conventions.

3. There is a mountain of technical evidence proving these images are fake, but zero primary evidence that the posters can share to prove they are real.

4. Who is the “concerned voter” that is unwilling to go on record and stand behind the allegations?

None of this passes the smell test because it is impossible to prove a lie. The voters see through this, and that will be apparent on Aug. 23rd.”

Carney has retained legal counsel and declined to talk about the details with Eye on Jacksonville.

But it is clear Democrats are desperate, both in Jacksonville and nationwide. Falsely accusing someone of taking part in a mostly peaceful protest as if it were a crime to do so shows the extent of their desperation.
