Parents block latest attempt to pepper young children with detailed sex information

Parents continue to do battle with government schools that want to groom children for potentially harmful gender experiments and also substitute a barrage of information about sex rather than reading, writing and math.

The last encounter was Tuesday when members of the County Citizens for Defending Freedom and other groups, including Moms for Liberty, challenged a proposed new “health” agenda, a supplemental curriculum to go with what one schools have used for the past 10 years. One of the most effective pushbacks was this brief speech by a student. Daisy Yarbrough is 12 years old but her presentation was very mature.

After opponents pointed out a number of problems with the proposal, the School Board tabled the proposal by a vote of 4-3.

The reason it was tabled was clear. One of the liberal board members supporting the proposal is up for re-election this month and did not want to be on the record supporting the proposal. The hidden agenda is to bring it back up after the election and approve it with as little debate and discussion as possible.

Among the concerns parents have with the proposal:

· The 7th Grade activity book asks students to read a story about “Shannon” who has a very active social life and then answer questions such as, “How many people did she have sex with?”

· The 8th Grade activity book includes condom demonstrations with Vaseline and assessments as to the risk of HIV transmission during “mouth to genital” activities using both male and female condoms.

Parents should be asking why this information is necessary for young children and why it is so important that it must take the place of traditional learning in a district that is not setting any records for educational outcomes.

The next board meeting is Sept. 12 and parents plan to have a substantial presence there to discuss the new supplemental health curriculum.
